This is some of the equipment I designed to control my show.
I have many other designs and you can check them out and build them yourself at www.DiyLightAnimation.com.
The first three images are of my DMX Light Dimmer design the Lynx. It's an all in one dimmer designed to be easy to build yourself while being very professional looking and a fraction of what the commercial units cost. It is complete and requires no external Solid State Relays or power supplies.
Picture number four is my extremely simple and cheap on/off light controller which cost very little to build but supports 64 channels and uses standard DIY solid state relays. John Wilson did the layout on the PCB of that project for me.
The last picture is of my low cost version of the Robotic spot lights you see on stage of big shows. It used a RGB Led to allow it to be any color you can imagine instead of being white while allowing you to point it in any direction 180 deg vertical and 360 deg horizontal.
All of it can be run on DMX to allow my shows to be high channels with low timing periods. Use only one run of Catogory 5 cable.
Hi I'm RJ and I created a Christmas Light Show for the hoildays with a lot of help from my family. I started by designing my own electronic equipment to control the lights and I used Vixen a wonderful piece of free software to seqence the lights and equipment to music. Everything you every wanted to know about creating a homebuilt christmas show can be found at diylightanimation.com
